The book of Revelation was written by the apostle and gospel author John while he was imprisoned by the Romans on the island of Patmos. The book was written around a.d. 95.

Revelation is well known for its apocalyptic style and vision of the end times. However, the book includes contemporary messages for seven churches with warnings against the spread of Roman emperor worship, and encouragement to hold on in the face of Satanic persecution.

Containing famous symbolism such as the mark of the beast, 666, the whore of Babylon, the seven seals, the four horsemen of the apocalypse etc., the book of Revelation describes the final battle between good and evil and our Lord's final victory over sin and the world.
