The book of Titus is a letter written by the apostle Paul to Titus, a most trusted and capable associate. The letter was authored sometime between a.d. 63 and 65.

Titus is in Crete where Paul has founded the Christian church and left him there to get things organized. The Cretian society at the time is rife with low morality, sloth and gluttony. Paul instructs Titus on the appointment of church elders, the value of sound teaching and good deeds.
